As you might have heard, Democrat Kathy Hochul is within reach of a special election victory in upstate New York over Republican Jane Corwin.   

This is especially encouraging news, as the seat has been a Republican stronghold for years and was considered a shoo-in for the Republican nominee.  But Hochul’s campaign is rapidly gaining momentum, as recent polls have her in a dead heat with Corwin after voters discovered the Republican's radical stance on key issues.

After Corwin publicly embraced Paul Ryan’s Republican budget proposal to eliminate Medicare while giving tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans, it’s no surprise that residents all across the district have refused to support the irresponsible Republican plan that endangers the well-being of our seniors and millions of Americans nationwide.

Right now, Republicans are shaking in their boots.  They are well aware that a loss in this special election would be a crushing blow to their partisan agenda in Congress.  That’s why the Republicans have dispatched Speaker John Boehner to New York to fundraise for Corwin, along with $650,000 from Karl Rove’s special interest group, American Crossroads.

We know the Republican outside interest groups will not slow down, that’s why the grassroots support from people like you is so important.
